GET Network Foundation – Gender Equality Trust
The GET Network Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization established in 2015 to empower, inspire, and facilitate trust and equality for everyone regardless of gender assigned at birth. The organization serves primarily the transgender community but also supports and provides education for the entire LGBT community.
The organization provides monthly support groups for transgender individuals and their families. The certified and trained professionals as well as the board members are all volunteers. There are currently 9 board members with a variety of backgrounds and expertise. The organization works hard to make sure many different voices are represented on the board, including youth.
GET provides support group for transgender and gender questioning adults, teens, children, their family members and allies. The support groups are run by professional psychotherapists, either certified transgender care therapists or mental health counselors (3), and 2 group leaders recruited from LGBTQ community with more than 10 years of experience of running support groups with the respective population. Groups are held twice a month in Fort Myers at St. John the Apostle, 3049 McGregor Boulevard, three times a month in Cape Coral, 2503 Del Prado Blvd. S, Suite 410, and once a month in Naples, Mental Health Association office, 2335 9th Street N. http://get-it.network
